Thank you for your interest in Summer Electrical Academy! 

Applying for the Pre-apprenticeship is a competitive process. This application is the first step

Here is how it works:

  1. After you complete your application, we will review your submission to select 14 pre-apprentices.
  2. Recruitment will be based on attendance, GPA, letter of interest, and any additional portfolio information.
  3. We will reach out to all candidates with final selection status by April 29th.

 

If you are selected to participate in a pre-apprenticeship, there are many benefits:

  • Paid tuition to attend two Central Piedmont courses (all books and fees covered)
  • $350.00 transportation stipend (Uber or gas gift cards)
  • $2,000.00 stipend
  • PPE (starter work equipment set including work boots and tool belt)
  • Potential long-term career growth opportunities in your selected industry

1) Applicants must be a graduating Senior from a CMS high school documented by unofficial high school transcript. This can be obtained from your guidance counselor or CDC. All students must upload a transcript to Submittable.

2) Attendance record showing high school attendance

3) A paragraph of 50- 100 words stating why you are interested in participating in the summer pre-apprenticeship. 

4) You may submit one recommendation, but it is completely optional.
